The 2017 ACTEC Summer Meeting was held in Seattle, Washington, on June 14-17, 2017. A summary of observations from the seminars at the meeting is available on the link below.
The meeting included one day of seminars addressing the “life cycle of a charity.”
In addition, the program included three panels discussing the impact of cultural variables on estate planning, including:
• Religious considerations (focusing particularly on planning implications for Christian, Jewish, and Muslim clients);
• Cultural competency in healthcare decisions (the summary includes interesting practical tips for working with non-English speaking clients); and
• International variables.
