Ray Dalio: Free Personality Assessment for You and Your Team (April 22, 2021)

Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater and author of the bestselling book, Principles, has made available a free personality assessment that anyone can take advantage of. Our entire team, individually, took the personality assessment and shared results. It was great fun and enlightening for all. Its easy and takes only about 40 minutes to go through the entire assessment.

The announcement from Mr. Dalio is as follows:

“Principles You: The New Personality Assessment by Ray Dalio:

  • Understand yourself.
  • Understand others.
  • Help others understand you.
As many of you know, my main goal at this stage of my life is to pass along those things of value that I acquired in my lifetime to help others be successful—most importantly principles and tools for implementing them. As explained in my book Principles, I found that knowing what oneself and others are like to be invaluable, and I found psychometric tests very helpful in obtaining that knowledge.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve worked with expert psychologists Dr. Adam Grant, Dr. Brian Little, and Dr. John Golden, to design a uniquely effective personality assessment that paints a clear portrait of those who take it and helps to guide people on their interactions with others. I’m passing it along for free because I want everyone to have access to it. It’s easy and fun to take in 30-40 minutes, so check it out and let me know what you think.

And if you want to go further down this path of self-discovery for you and those around you—including using it to analyze team dynamics—let me know and I will pass along other ways to make the most of what you learn.”
