If you filed a 2020 tax return and are expecting a refund from the IRS, you may want to find out the status of the refund or at least get an idea of when you might receive it. You can start checking on the status of your refund within 24 hours after the IRS has received your electronically-filed return or 4 weeks after you mailed a paper return. Currently you might be waiting a bit longer to receive it due to the effects of COVID-19, new tax law changes, and possible errors made on the tax return.
